PURPOSE:To reduce the loss of the power amplifier element and then to miniaturize the radiator by varying in sequence and steps the power voltage applied to the collector of the power transistor in accordance with the levels of the output signal voltage. CONSTITUTION:The emitters of complementary push-pull power transistors Q1 and Q2 constituting the final output step of the power amplifier are connected to the output point via emitter resistances R1 and R2, thus driving speaker RL of the common load. Then the output signal voltage of the output point is applied to comparators 1-6 to be compared with the reference voltage. And switching means SW1-SW6 are turned on when the absolute value of the input is large.
