Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable accurate measurement with inexpensive unit, locating the waveguide at the both ends of rod shape dielectric substance, receiving high frequency signal from one waveguide with another waveguide, and measuring water content for such as unhulled rice from the attenuation of signal.
CONSTITUTION: The gun diode 10 and the monitor diode 12 are provided at the transmission side, the reception diode 13 is placed at the reception side, by opposing the dielectric rod antenna less in high frequency loss. The output of the diode 10 passes through the coaxial circuit 17 and is fed to the polystyrene rod 21 via the coaxial circular waveguide converter 19, of which conversion characteristics are best adjusted at the coaxial tuning circuit 18. The output of the diode 12 and the output of the diode 13 attenuated with unhulled rice 1 are displayed on the water content display section 9 via the differential amplifier 16 for the water content. With this system, since the change in the characteristics is greater in comparison with the change in the water content of unhulled rice, the measured accuracy can be increased.
