Abstract
PURPOSE:To measure the capacity of a radar apparatus with good accuracy, by performing the variable attenuation of a dummy signal in a IF band. CONSTITUTION:The IF band signal VC from a reference signal oscillator 1 is inputted to a variable attenuator 6 to apply predetermined attenuation quantity only to a dummy signal time band. Thereafter said signal is mixed with the RF band output V1 of a local oscillator 2 by a mixer 3 to be converted to a signal of transmission frequency. Only the transmission pulse signal in the output of the mixer 3 is amplified in power by a power amplifier 4 and, subsequently, a transmission pulse signal VT is emitted to air through a duplexer 9, a directional coupler 8 and an antenna 7. A dummy signal is extracted by a change-over circuit 5 to be injected in a receiving system as a signal VP from the coupler 8 and received by a receiving circuit 10 through the duplexer 9 to be outputted to a target detector 20. As mentioned above, since the attenuator 6 is provided between the mixer 3 and the oscillator 1 and the attenuation of the dummy signal is performed in the IF band, the leak level of the dummy signal to the radar receiving circuit due to the spatial coupling in an RF band becomes low and capacity can be evaluated with high accuracy.
