Abstract

PURPOSE: To inspect the welded part of electric welded tube with high accuracy, by controlling the position of ultrasonic probe via the hold member reciprocatingly moving along the circular guide path.
CONSTITUTION: The probe holder 4 reciprocates along the circular guide 2 with the crank mechanism 10. Accordingly, the ultrasonic wave probe 8 provided at the tip of the rod 7 in interlocking with the movement goes toward the center of inspected steel tube 1 welded while moving and the distance from the surface of the tube 1 is kept constant. As a result, with zigzag scanning for the probe 8, the welded part 20 of the tube 1 can be made for accurate ultrasonic wave inspection.
