Abstract
PURPOSE: To achieve the improvement in the reliability of the results of flaw detection by letting the probe scan the corner part of the part to be inspected having uneven curvatures, while holding a fixed angle and spacing.
CONSTITUTION: When a motor 1 is run, an arm 9 oscillates about an output shaft 9 as a fulcrum and an outside barrel 15 is pressed in the direction of the surface 21 to be examined by a parallelogram link mechanism 10 and spring 13, causing a probe 22 to move by maintaining a fixed spacing from the surface 21 to be examined by a guide roller 16. On the other hand, the inside barrel 18 holding the probe 22 is oscillated by the spring 20 mounted to an auxiliary roller 19 in such a manner that the probe 22 becomes always rectangular to the surface 21 to be examined. At the time of searching the strip-form region of the corner part of the surface 21 to be examined with such constitution, the probe 22 follows up the undulation in the advancing direction of a self-travelling dolly 23 and is capable of making accurate searching of the surface 21 to be examined while maintaining a fixed spacing rectangular to said surface.
