Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize the reading of the high-resolution picture with the large area preserved for each photo sensor unit by arraying plural units of the photo sensor in the main scanning direction along with installation of more than two one-dimensional photo sensor arrays distributed nearly in parallel.
CONSTITUTION: Condensing cylinderical lens 12 is provided to condense beam source 13 onto the lines parallel to the prescribed scanning direction on the surface of original 10, and two raws of one-dimensional photo sensor arrays 11 and 12 are provided in the main scanning direction and at the both sides of lens 12. These arrays 11 and 12 comprise noncrystal semiconductor 2, transparent electrodes 3 and 8 holding semiconductor 2 between, metal electrodes 4 and 5 connected to electrodes 3 and 8, and transparent substance 9 which cuts off the light entering directly semiconductor 2 from source 13. Furthermore, switching circuit 7 is added to give the relative shift to the transparent carrier in corporating original 10 plus arrays 11 and 12. Thus the original reading device is constituted to ensure a high-resolution reading for the picture.
