Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic head with high precision and high efficiency by fixing several core material on the work mount surface of a rotary drum surface and then by rotating the drum for required cutting by using a grinding wire with adrasive grains sticking to the external surface of a metal wire of circular section. CONSTITUTION:Several core materials 1 are fitted in grooves 12 with couples of mount surfaces 12a and 12b symmetrical on radius-directional lines of drum 10 on the external surface of rotary drum 10 detachable from shaft 11. On the other hand, several grinding wires 14 of metal wires 15 of circular section with sticking abrasive grains 16 are fixed to wire holder 17 on column 18 moving along shaft 19. At the constant rotational frequency of drum 10, wires 14 moves to advance cutting work. Then, they are shifted in the longish direction of the drum for the next cutting. To form track parts 3 at pitch P5, grooves 2 are made in block 1 by grinding, and gapped bar 25 is manufacutred by a pair of ground blocks 1 and then cut, at angle (theta) to a gap line with a width of pitch P6, by wire 28 into several magnetic heads at a time.
