Abstract

PURPOSE: To close a guide vane properly at the time of emergency, by restricting the closing speed of the guide vane below a fixed value, when a guide vane control device failed, in a pump turbine having S characteristics.
CONSTITUTION: When a load cutoff signal is given to a speed adjuster, control oil pressure 20 is discharged from main distributing valve 19 and relay servo motor piston 17 descends. Then, pressure oil is drawn into pipe path 22, and pipe path 21 is led to oil discharge pipe path 23, and guide vane servo motor piston 25 is operated in the closing direction. Subsequently, when it is detected that the S characteristics are moving toward the direction of decreasing flow, electromagnet S1 is energized, stopper 5 is pulled up by lever 6, and piston 25 is operated in the opening direction. Also, when the power supply failed at this time, piston 8 moves up with the release of electromagnets S1 and S2, stopper 10 is checked by lever 11, and the closing speed of the guide vane is reduced.
