Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance the ordinary temp. strength and reduction powdering index of crushed sintered ore by reheating the ore in a counter-current vertical type moving bed and slowly cooling it to remove the thermal strain of the ore and recrystallize the glass phase of slag.
CONSTITUTION: Sintered ore from sintering machine 1 is crushed to a suitable size, whereby the ore strength is lowered owing to a thermal strain and vitrification of slag phase. This crushed ore is charged into reheating bed 19 through hopper 18 of countercurrent vertical type moving bed 17. Hot oxygen-rich gas 16 generated by cooling a sintered cake on machine 1 and hot circulating blast furnace gas 41 are mixed, burned with burner 25, and fed into bed 19. In bed 19 the ore is heated to eliminate the thermal strain and the vitrification, thereby enhancing the ore strength. The ore then enters cooling bed 20, where it is slowly cooled by blowing blast furnace gas 36 and cold mixed gas cooled by being used to drive boiler 39. Hot exhaust gas from bed 20 is cooled by being used to drive boiler 39.
