Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the heat energy consumption for a continuous annealing furnace, by preheating atmosphere gas supplied to the heating chamber and the soaking chamber in a heat exchanger by using high temp. atmosphere gas generated in a rapid cooling chamber as the heat source.
CONSTITUTION: Atmosphere gas to be blown into a heating chamber and a soaking chamber is preheated by utilizing the sensible heat of high temp. atmosphere gas generated in a rapid cooling chamber etc. For example, an annealing furnace consisting of a heating chamber 1, a soaking chamber 2, a rapid cooling chamber 3, a low temp. chamber 4, and a slow cooling chamber 5 is equipped with water coolers K1WK3 for cooling atmosphere gas, pressurizing fans F1WF3, in addition, with a heat exchanger 6 where atmosphere gas at ordinary temp. is preheated by the heat of atmosphere gas heated in the rapid cooling chamber 3 and is charged to the heating chamber 1 and the soaking chamber 2. The atmosphere gas in the rapid cooling chamber 3 is at 700W800°C temp. and is lowered by 30°C in the heat exchanger 6, and raises the temp. of atmosphere gas to be charged to the heating chamber and the soaking chamber to about 300°C.
