Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the thermal efficiency of the air heating furnace and to raise the temperature of the compressed air to be introduced into the blast furnace, by supplying the combustion air, being preheated through the heat exchange with the adiabatically compressed air sent from the air blower, and by heating in the air heating furnace to raise temperature of the compressed air which preheated the combustion air.
CONSTITUTION: The cooling air being adiabatically compressed by the air blower 1, and the combustion air being sent from the air fan 5, are alternately introduced into the air heating furnace 2. When respective air is introduced, the combustion air being sent from the air fan 5 is passed through the heat exchanger 6 before being introduced into the air heating furnace 2, for exchanging the heat with the cooling air being adiabatically compressed by the air blower 1; hereby, the combustion air is preheated by the sensible heat of the air whose temperature is high due to the adiabatic compression. The temperature of the compressed cooling air is lowered by above heat exchange, which improves the heat transmission efficiency in the air heating furnace; as a result, the efficiency of the air heating furnace 2 is greatly improved.
