Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the thermal efficiency of a hot stove and humidify the blast of a blast furnace with less energy by spraying and evaporating water of ordinary temp. into the cold wind after the compression and temp. rise caused by a blower between the blower and the hot stove. CONSTITUTION:The atmospheric air sucked through a bag filter 1 is sent by a blower 2 into a hot stove 3, and after it is preheated there, it is blasted to a blast furnace 4. At the time of humidifying this blast furnace blast, an ordinary temp. water blow pipe 10 is provided to the blast cooling pipe 5 between the blower 2 and the hot stove 3, and water of ordinary temp. is ejected 8 directly into the cold blast after the compression and temp. rise caused by blower passing through the cooling pipe 5. As a result, the waste of the quantity of heat is eliminate overall and the considerable saving of energy is achieved by making use of the characteristic of the hot stove that the thermal efficiency of the hot stove is higher (higher about 5% per 100 deg. cold blast temp. drop) as the temp. of this cold blast is lower.
