Abstract
PURPOSE:To save energy by using the combustion gases of a direct-fired type non-oxidatie heating zone for preheating of air for combustion then conducting the same to a convection type preheating zone proviced with combustion gas circulators and preheating a strip. CONSTITUTION:The waste gases of combustion out from a heat exchanger 10 are conducted through a duct 12' by a blower 11 for waste gases to a convection type preheating zone 16 provided before a direct-fired type non-oxidative heating zone 5. The waste gases of combustion introduced therein are sucked through inlet side ducts 20 by waste gas circulation blowers 17 provided by leaving intervals in the zone 16 and are blown through outlet side ducts 18 from wind boxes 19 having many blowing nozzle holes at high velocity onto a strip 1. Further, the combustion gases flow toward the inlet side of the preheating zone gradually, whereby the heat exchanging with the strip 1 of low temp. is effected. Therefore, the thermal efficiency is made higher by 5-15% than that in the prior art.
