Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the damage of the furnace material of a hot blast stove and to recover the waste heat of the stove, by heating blast furnace gas supplied as a fuel to the hot blast stove with a circulating heating medium which has been heated by the waste heat from the hot blast stove to a temp. not lower than the dew point at the inlet of the hot blast stove burner. CONSTITUTION:Heating medium, i.e., water, is circulated between a press. balance tank and heat exchangers 8, 9 through circulating pipe 11. Air led to a hot blast stove 1 through a combustion air blower 2, an air pipe 3, a preheater 4, is mixed with blast furnace gas (BFG), which is heated while traveling through a BFG pipe 5, the heat exchanger 8 to temp. not lower than the dew point and is led to the hot blast stove 1, to form a mixed gas. The mixed gas, which has been burned by the burner of the hot blast stove and heated to a high temp., heats the regenerative bricks to accumulate the heat. The waste gas reduced in temp. to a certain degree by the release of heat, which has been used for the heat accumulation, is drawn off through a waste gas pipe 6, a heat exchanger 9, the preheater 4, and a chimney 7 to the air.
