Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to detect a fault in a package unit by constituting a package with a logical operation circuit and a parity generation circuit where I/O signals of this logical operation circuit are branched into an even number and are supplied.
CONSTITUTION: When I/O signals to the logical operation circuit in a package are inputted to the parity generation circuit in even positions respectively, a parity signal generated in the package is certainly odd if odd faults are generated, so that faults can be detected. Signals at package input terminals 91 and 92 which are supplied to logical operation circuit 20 are branched into an even number (two in the figure) by input signal lines 141 and 143 respectively and are supplied to parity generation circuit 30. Signals outputted from circuit 20 to package output terminals 93 and 94 are branched into an even number by output signal lines 251 and 351 respectively and are supplied to circuit 30. Thus, since even signals are supplied to circuit 30 in respect to each signal, exclusive OR for each signal becomes logical "0", and logical "0" is always outputted to package parity output terminal 95.
