Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the drum of a photoreceptor smaller by making the spacing between the end parts other than the image-forming region of the photoreceptor smaller and destaticizing the charges remaining at the leading end part of the photoreceptor in the electrophotographic apparatus which simultaneously energizes transfer and toner destaticization. CONSTITUTION:A corona discharger 6 for transfer then a corona discharger 7 for toner charging, destaticizing lamp 8, etc. are subsequently disposed on a photoreceptor 1. The dischargers 6, 7 for transfer and toner charging are connected to the same power source device 10. Now, when the trailing end b of the photoreceptor 1 passes the corona discharger 7, the power source 10 goes OFF and the corona dischargers 6, 7 stop. At this time, already charges remain near l the leading end of the phtoreceptor 1. However, the destaticizing lamp 8 goes ON when the leading end a of the photoreceptor 1 arrives at the lamp 8 and goes OFF when the c part of the photoreceptor 1 passes. This results in that the residual charges near the leading end part of the photoreceptor is destaticized by the lamp 8, thus the end part spacings a, b other than the image-forming region of the photoreceptor may be made smaller.
