Abstract

PURPOSE: To even a lifting force acting on a diaphragm valve and to obtain a sufficient feed water flow rate even when the working pressure is low, by providing a fluid resistance member in an annular passage formed at the outside periphery of a valve seat in a feed water valve utilizing a diaphragm.
CONSTITUTION: When a feed water valve used in a washing machine or the like is closed, a fluid introduced from an inlet port 1a flows through an extraction hole 3 and a small hole 4f into a pressure chamber 20. With a coil 8 excited to move an operating rod 11 upward against a spring 12, a small hole 4e in the center of a main valve body 4 is opened. Therefore, the pressure in the chamber 8 becomes lower than that on the side of the port 1a, and a diaphragm valve body 2 parts from a valve seat 1d to open a passage 1c, feeding water. Due to the presence of fluid resistance members 23, 23a, and 23b, the fluid flowing into an annular passage 22 pushes up the valve body 2 at three positions where the resistance members are present, so as to prevent the one-side opening of the valve body 2.
