Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform corrosion prevention at the dust collector construction material and facilitated removal of collected dust, by a mechanism wherein spray water for wet-type electric dust collector makes use of an aqueous solution including alkali borate and cationic high molecular coagulating agent.
CONSTITUTION: An aqueous solution with pH 9 or more containing dissolved alkali borate and a cationic high molecular organic coagulating agent is used as a spray water for wet-type electric dust collector. The alkali borate used is compounds of boric acid and alkali metals, such as sodium borate, potassium borate, and calcium borate. The high molecular coagulating agent used is for example polyvinyl pyridine, aniline-formaldehyde polymer, etc. Dust, mist, etc. contained in untreated gas is introduced through the inlet pipe 2 into the electric dust collector 1 and removed by use of the above material, then cleaned gas only is dicharged through the outlet pipe 3 and the stack 4 into the atmosphere.
