Abstract

PURPOSE: To advantageously recover zinc silicate mineral of enhanced Zn grade by sulfurizing zinc silicate mineral-contg. ore pulp at a specified temp. and pH followed by flotation.
CONSTITUTION: Zinc silicate mineral-contg. ore pulp is sulfurized at 60°C or above and pH 7W9.5, pref. 7.5W9 by adding a sulfurizing agent such as Na2S or NaHS in an amt. of 30kg or more per ton of ore. The sulfurization product is then subjected to flotation. By this method the mineral surface is well sulfurized, so flotation efficiency is enhanced furthermore, and a concentrate of the mineral is obtd. advantageously.
