Abstract
PURPOSE: To recover high grade copper sulfide contg. little arsenic by heating a copper soln. contg. arsenic to a high temp., simultaneously adjusting the pH of the soln., and adding hydrogen sulfide.
CONSTITUTION: A copper soln. contg. much arsenic and discharged from a copper smelting process, etc. is heated to a high temp. such as ≥60°C, and simultaneously it is adjusted to ≥0.7pH with an alkaline agent. Hydrogen sulfide is then added to the soln. to recover copper as copper sulfide.
