Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the removal efficiency of tritiated water by increasing the moisture of exhaust gas containing tritiated water passed through a condenser and a dehumidifier and again dehumidifying.
CONSTITUTION: The exhaust gas containing tritiated water of tritium handling facilities 1 is introduced by a fan 2, preheated by a preheater 3, and passed through a recombination unit 4. Next, the gas is passed through a dehumidifier comprising a condenser and a drain separator 5 and dehumidified in a adsorbing tower 6 by lowering the dew point. Then, the moisture of the gas is increased by adding light steam by a humidifier 9 and passed to an adsorbing tower 6' to remove tritium by lowering the dew point and dehumidifying. Thereafter, the gas is discharged to the outer atmosphere by a discharge line 7 or a part thereof is returned to the facilities 1 through a circulation line 8.
