Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a device wherein responsiveness is excellent and an eddy-current coupling is not overheated by providing a control means which controls the maximum value of an exciting current at the value in the vicinity, where the magnetic exciting circuit of the eddy-current coupling is magnetically saturated.
CONSTITUTION: The current flowing in an exciter winding 1 of an eddy-current coupling is controlled by the phase control of a rectifier 2. The signal from a speed- command generator 4 and the output signal of a number-of revolution sensor 5 for the output of the coupling are compared and the difference signal is input to an amlifier 6. The output signal of the amplifier 6 goes through a variable resistor 8 which sets up the maximum value of an exciting current and is compared with the output signal of a shunt resistor 7 which detects the exciting current. A phase control circuit 3 is energized by th difference signal, thereby the exciting current of the eddy-current coupling is controlled.
