Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the degassing effective area of molten steel by forming a nozzle to the end of a pass pipe for sucking up molten steel, disposing a linear motor on the outside circumference of the pass pipe and forming upward flow while heating the molten steel. CONSTITUTION:An injection nozzle 3a is formed to the end of a molten steel rise pipe 3 provided to a vacuum vessel 2 and a linear motor 7 is disposed to the outside circumference of the rise pipe 3. This motor is then operated at frequencies of 50- 60 cycles. As a result, the molten steel 4 rises at a high speed in the rise pipe 3 while being heated and is injected in liquid drop form into a vacuum vessel 2 from the injection nozzle 3a. The entire surface of the liquid drops become the effective degassing area and further the degassing effect is increased by the stirring effect accompanied with falling into the vessel 2. If a linear motor 8 is installed to the outside circumference of the down pipe 5 as well to accelerate the downward flow of the molten steel 4, then the molten steel 4 in the ladle 1 is sufficiently stirred to deep part.
