PURPOSE:To supply flux to the inside wall of the nozzle, prevent its closing and enable clean steel to be obtained by providing flux supply ports above the molten steel immersion part of the nozzle. CONSTITUTION:Flux supply ports 6 of 3-30mm in inside diameter are provided in plurality at angles of 0 deg.-80 deg. facing downward above the molten steel immersion part of an immersion nozzle 5. Next, a conduit 10 is connected thereto and is sealed from the atmosphere. Inert gas is then pressure-supplied to the coduit 10. This causes the flux in a hopper 9 to be supplied through the flux supply ports 6 of the immersion nozzle 5. Then, the flux and the boundary film of the inert gas give lubricity of prevent the product of deoxidation existing on the surface of the molten steel passing in the nozzle 5 from depositing on the inside wall of the nozzle.
