Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a synchronous motor having self-starting capacity using a light rotor by perforating a hole at a cylindrical wall between a cylindrical permanent magnet and winding and disposing a cylindrical rotor formed with V-shaped wedge post.
CONSTITUTION: There are arranged a cylindrical permanent magnet 4 having N and S poles disposed alternatively on the circular periphery and a winding supporting structure 8 wound with winding 5 coaxially disposed with the magnet 4, and a cylindrical rotor 3 disposed in a cylindrical ari gap formed by the inner surface of the structure 8 and the outer surface of the magnet 4 within a substrate 2 of a casing 1 of soft magnetic material. A hole is perforated at the cylindrical wall of the rotor 3 to form V-shaped wedge post 3e equal to the permanent magnets 4 in number of poles to bridge the upper and lower annular yokes 3a, 3b directing alternatively upward and downward. When the winding 5 is not energized, the magnets 4 and the posts 3e are so disposed that the center line of the adjacent poles of the magnets 4 becomes coincident to the center line of the posts 3e.
