Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the effective sectional area of the magnets and inexpensively provide a rotor having superior characteristics for a permanent magnet type synchronous machine by forming a permanent magnet in thin circular arc shape, magnetizing it in thickness direction and disposing in plural number the magnets at special positional relation.
CONSTITUTION: In case of four-pole synchronous machine, four permanent magnets 4a∼4d are formed in thin circular arc shape, and magnetized in their thickness direction. These magnets 4a∼4d are approached at their one ends 4' to an iron core central hole 5 and gradually separated from the central hole 5 at the other ends 4" at the rotor iron core 1 in such a manner that the gaps g between the adjacent magnets magnetized in opposite direction and lapped portions may be increased in size longer at the outer side. Even if inexpensive ferrite sintered magnet is used, magnetic flux is thus effectively utilized to thereby obtain a rotor having superior characteristics with large magnetic flux even without increasing the outer diameter of the rotor.
