Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a rotary electric machine of little cogging, high efficiency and simple construction, by using a field section having an N-pole, an S-pole and a non- magnetic pole and by using an armature core having a plurality of winding salient poles, auxiliary salient poles and prescribed auxiliary recesses. CONSTITUTION:A field section 2 comprising an N-pole, and S-pole and a non- magnetic pole is provided on the inside of a rotor 1 so that the poles are located at equiangular positions. Two winding salient poles 4a, 4b and two auxiliary salient poles 5a, 5b are provided on an armature core 3 so that the poles extend radially. Auxiliary recesses 8a-8h are provided on the parts of the poles 4a, 4b, 5a, 5b facing the field section 2. The auxiliary recesses 8a-8h and winding recesses 7a-7d between the salient poles are located at equiangular positions as to the center A of gyration. As a result, the order of fundamental component of magnetic nonuniform periodic wave in the armature core 3 rises, namely, the order of fundametal frequency component of cogging force increases. Therefore, the cogging force is reduced.
