Abstract
PURPOSE: To even the distribution of mixture gas to cylinders of a multi-cylinder internal-combustion engine by connecting each suction branch pipe to a spherical manifolding unit and arranging a fuel injection valve and a fuel atomizer on a diameter of the manifolding unit.
CONSTITUTION: Suction manifold 21 in connection with respective cylinders are connected to a branch 22 consisting of a common manifolding unit. The branch 22 is spherical or oval in shape and fitted therein with a throttle valve 28; it also comprises an arch-shaped partition wall 31 disposed opposite to a suction pipe 29 through which air is introduced, to generate a swirl in the branch 22. A fuel injection valve 23 and an atomizer 24 for generating ultrasonic waves to atomize a fuel are opposedly arranged on a diameter of the branch 22. The manifold 21 are connected to the branch 22 in such a manner that the extension lines of the pipes 21 pass the center 25 of the branch 21.
