Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the distribution property of the intake branch pipes of a multi-cylinder engine by providing a partition plate in the intake manifold for correcting a local concentration of the mixture.
CONSTITUTION: Intake branch pipes 7 are connected at their downstream ends (not shown) and, at their upstream ends to the downstream side of an intake manifold 8 of a multi-cylinder engine. A heat insulator 9 is arranged between the intake manifold 8 and the intake branch pipes 7 and, at the same time, a part of this insulator 9 sticks out inside of the intake manifold 8 to constitute a partition board 10. The partition board 10 is arranged in the direction of local concentration of the mixture to correct such a concentrated flow.
