Abstract
PURPOSE: To raise temperature of lubricating oil promptly at the time of starting engine in cold days, by forming oil filter in double-wall structure so that heat exchange can be caused between lubricating oil and engine cooling water.
CONSTITUTION: Container 1 of oil filter includes an outer wall 3 and an inner wall 5, so that a space 7 is formed between these two walls 3, 5. The outer wall 3 is formed with an inlet port 9 to be fitted with a hose for introducing cooling water and an outlet port 11 to be fitted with a hose for discharging cooling wster. In the space 13 enclosed by the inner wall 5, there is incorporated a conventional filter 15. Utilizing the fact that temperature of cooling water at the time of starting engine in cold days is higher than the temperature of lubricating oil, heat exchange between cooling water and lubricating oil is effected at the oil filter, whereby it is enabled to raise temperature of lubricating oil promptly.
