Abstract

PURPOSE: To cool oil effeciently and to promote the efficiency of assembling by adapting the inner pipe of a double pipe oil cooler to be opened on its ends into an upper and a lower tank respectively and exposing the outer pipe to the open air.
CONSTITUTION: Engine-cooling water is introduced from an inlet pipe 1a into an upper tank 1, and distributed to several tubes 4 and an inner pipe 7a of an oil cooler 7. the heat of the engine cooling water running in the tubes 4 is taken off through the wall of the tubes 4 and radiating fins 5 to the open air. Meanwhile, the heat of the lubricating oil circulating in an annular sealed up space 8 of the oil cooler 7 is taken off by the engine cooling water in the inner pipe 7a for cooling. Besides, the lubricating oil introduced into the sealed up space 8 through an entrance pipe 12 of the oil cooler 7 is mixed by radiating fins 7c, and cooled efficiently by the engine cooling water in the innner pipe 7a and radiating fins 9 on an outer pipe 7b.
