Abstract

PURPOSE: To recover as much steam as possible, by continuing independent house operation as long as possible when load is lowered drastically.
CONSTITUTION: When load is disconnected, adjust valve 4 and intercept valve 9 are closed promptly but steam converting valve 19 and spill-over valve 21 are opened by the inner pressure of main steam pipe 2 and inner pressure of reheated steam pipe 7 so that superfluous steam is sent directly to condenser 13 via high- pressure turbine by-pass pipe 18 and low-pressure turbine by-pass pipe 20. On the other hand, pressure of steam in the reheated steam pipe 7 is raised since opening of spill-over valve 21 is restricted, and safety valve 32 is opened by the pressure rise in pipe 7, so that superfluous steam is blow off to the atmosphere. In this state, if vacuum in condenser 13 is restored, spill-over valve 21 is fully opened again in response to the signal from pressure regulator 33 and safety valve 32 is closed.
