Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the labor in a process for thermally hardening a bind tape, by winding a thin iron sheet and an electric heating wire on the halfly-hardened glass bind tape and energizing the wire to heat the tape.
CONSTITUTION: A resin is impregnated in a material such as a glass tape and halfly hardened so that a bind tape 3 is manufactured. After the tape 3 is wound on an end 2 of a coil, a spacer sheet 4, a thin iron sheet 5 and a tightening tape 6 are sequentially wound on the bind tape 3 while the sheets and the tape 6 are tensioned. An electric heating wire 7 and a heat-retaining sheet 8 are then wound on the tightening tape 6. The electric heating wire is thereafter energized for a prescribed time to heat and harded the bind tape 3. As a result, the surface of the bind tape is finished smooth and the tape is uniformly heated. Therefore, a drying furnace or the like is not needen and consumed electric power and labor are reduced.
