Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the dispersion of the distance between electrodes and of the shape of the end part by fitting power introducing wires, facing to the both end parts inside the tube body of a luminous tube and by keeping one introducing wire on the tube body and sealing the other.
CONSTITUTION: Electric power introducing wires (electrode) 2 are fitted, facing to both end opening parts of the tube body 1 of a luminous tube and held, keeping the distance between electrodes 2 constant by an electrode holding tool 4. Inert gas is introduced into the tube body 1 from a tip tube 3, and the upper end part is heated by a gas burner and sealing-formed. After that, the holding tool 6 is lowered, and the lower end part is heated and sealing-formed, then the sealing of the electrode 2 of both ends is completed. Thus, the dispersion of the distance between electrodes and of the shape of the end part can be prevented.
