Abstract

PURPOSE: To clamp emphasized video signals accurately with a high response by connecting not only a high-voltage power source but also a current source, which increases a current value, to the other end of a clamping capacitor.
CONSTITUTION: Video synchronizing signals with overshoot inputted from the terminal 2 are emphasized by the pre-emphasis circuit 3 and are applied to the clamping capacitor 19. Meanwhile, a clamping key pulse is applied from the terminal 1; and the switches 42 and 29 are closed during this pulse period, and the other end of the capacitor 19 is connected to not only the high-voltage power source VCC through the conductive transistor 28 but also the constant power source 30 by the switch 29, and the capacitor 19 is charged by the current flowing through the transistor 28, switch 29 and current source 30, thereby clamping the leading edge of video synchronizing signals. In the period other than this period, the transistor 28 is turned off, and the overshoot of video synchronizing signals is not clamped; and when the potential of video synchronizing signals is inverted to the positive side, the transistor 28 is turned off and the discharge current of the capacitor 19 flows to the current source 30.
