Abstract

PURPOSE: To control the parallel operation of a plurality of motors having the same performance as a dc Ward-Leonard system, by providing a voriable-frequency power supply, a speed-control device, and a speed-regulating device which regulates the speeds of the second and succeeding motors individually in response to the speed of the master motor.
CONSTITUTION: On the ac output side of an inverter 21, n pieces of motors are connected, and the output signal from a speed sensor 30 which is coupled to a master motor 22 and the output signal of a speed-setting unit 4 are compared and amplified by a speed-control circuit 25, thereby the output frequency and voltage of the inverter 21 and the speed of the master motor 2 are controlled. Variable resistors 36-2 to 36-n are connected to the secondary sides of wire-wound induction motors 32-2 to 32-n that are connected to the motor 22 in parallel, through slip rings. The speed setting unit 4 controls the entire line speed, and the rotation speed of the motor 22 is controlled to the speed corresponding to the line speed. In this constitution, a plurality of motors can be driven by one inverter, and the difference in the speeds between individual motors can be arbitarily controlled.
