Abstract

PURPOSE:To sechme to make active substances themselves inexpansive and free from public unisance and improve the discharge performance of a cell by using composite oxide made of iron and cobalt as the anode of a nonaqueous electrolytic cell having the cathode made of light metal. CONSTITUTION:The nonaqueous electrolyte of lithium perchlorate is used with the cathode made of light metal such as lithium or magnesium. A cell having high energy density is formed by using composite oxide consisting of iron and cobalt as anode active substance of the cell. This composite oxide is prepar by the process in which 4mol sodium hydroxide aqeous solution is added to the mixed aqeous solution consisting of 0.8mol ferric sulfate and 0.2mol of cobalt sulfate, and the solution thus obtained is neutralized, and after leaving the solution for own week, the coprecipitate is filtered, washed by water, dried, and heat-treated at 500 deg.C for 5 hours.
