Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the evolution of exhaust gas deleterious constituents to the atmosphere by permitting the recompression of residual burnt gas and injection of oxygen and fuel to explode. CONSTITUTION:The top of piston 2 disposed within cylinder 1 is provided with a combustion chamber G where a spark pulg 3 is positioned to ignite only in initial explosion time. Oxygen and fuel admitted from oxygen cylinder 8 and fuel tank 9 are further admitted into the combustion chamber G thereof by means of a mixed gas 7 and an injection pump 6. Namely, in exhaust stroke after explosion, while the majority of exhaust gas is discharged from an exhaust port 10 passing through a muffler 11, a part thereof is recompressed by the piston 2, and oxygen and fuel are added to permit the recombustion by self-ignition so that the operation thereof may be repeated.
