Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable separation between surrounding soil and internal soil and to excavate lateral holes easily and accurately by driving hollow cylindrical members at the bottom of a vertical hole laterally into the ground and then discharging the soil and sand in the cylindrical members for width-broadening excavation.
CONSTITUTION: A vertical hole 10 having a cross-sectional area smaller than the area of a foundation floor board 2 of a steel tower foundation 1 is excavated in the ground surface 9, and the upper portions of the side walls of the hole 10 are protected by sheet piles 11. At the bittom of the hole 10, hollow cylindrical members 6 are driven laterally into the ground 9', and then the soil and sand in the members 6 is discharged for width-broadening excavation for the floor board 2. Using the members 6 as molds, concrete 4 is cast in them to from the floor board 2, and then a main foot portion 3 is formed.
