Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve reliability by improving mobile erasing characteristics by the external magnetic field of a tunnel erasing magnetic head, by connecting 1st and 2nd erasing magnetic paths via a specific joint magnetic path. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head consists of recording regenerative head 1 and erasing head 9, which consists of erasing winding 10, 1st erasing magnetic path 11A and 2nd erasing magnetic path 11B. Magnetic paths 11A and 11B, arranged at both the sides of magnetic path 3, have two end parts 17A and 17B, and 18A and 18B respectively. Both 1st end parts 17A and 17B are close to head 1, the erasing magnetic paths near 2nd end parts 18A and 18B are provided with common winding 10, and the end parts 18A and 18B are connected together via joint magnetic path 24. Consequently, when an external magnetism is applied, its magnetic flux varies in distribution rather focusing on erasing gap 12 than passing through magnetic path 24 with small magnetic resistance, so that the generation of a mobile erasing magnetic field from gap 12 will leassen.
