Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic material that has high initial magnetic permeability and high magnetic flux density as well as good machinability by cladding a pure iron or an iron-based alloy that has a higher saturated magnetic flux density than a specific value, to a specific Ni-Fe group alloy which has a high initial magnetic permeability. CONSTITUTION:Either one or pure iron, iron-based alloy, Fe-Ni alloy, or Fe-Co alloy whose saturated magnetic flux density is 10,000G or more, such as pure iron, 45Ni-Fe alloy, 3Si-Fe alloy, or 50Co-2V-Fe alloy, is cladded on a 70-90Ni-Fe group alloy whose initial magnetic permeability is 10,000 or more, such as a 77Ni- 5Cu-4Mo-Fe alloy to form a single magnetic material by heating at 850C to 1100C. By so doing, a magnetic material that has high initial magnetic permeability and high saturated magnetic flux density, and is suitable for a yoke in a step motor and a head cord for a magnetic tape can be obtained.
