Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent welding defects by keeping welding torches at a fixed height from the surface of welding mother materials and automatically controlling the wire swing amplitude and speed in accordance with the variation of welding current.
CONSTITUTION: The motor 26 is driven in accordance with the signals from the surface copying machine 25 to detect the concaves and convexes of the mother material surface 3, the welding head 11 is raised, and the welding torch 12 which is always mounted on the welding head 11 during welding is kept at a fixed height from the mother material surface 3.
