Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce a production cost of the device, while improving its characteristics, by using lead frames provided with light emitting elements and lead terminals on light receiving elements and arranging these two elements so as to face to each other by means of an auxiliary mount.
CONSTITUTION: A lead frame 10 is constructed by alternately arranging a portion 13 comprising a part 11 to which a light receiving element 22 is attached and a plurality of lead terminals 12, and a portion 15 having a plurality of lead terminals 14 for an auxiliary mount 24 opposing to the portion 13, on the same plane in an unified from. Then, a lead terminal portion having no element is bent upward, the element 22 is soldered to the other lead terminal part 11 with ample space wherein the elements are fixed, and the terminals thereof are connected to the lead terminals 12. Next, the light emitting elements 22 are soldered thereto by use of the auxiliary mounts 24, the electrodes are coupled to the lead terminals 14, and a transparent synthetic region 26 is filled therebetween, while maintaining the elements 21 and 22 in a just opposite position.
