Abstract
PURPOSE:To carry out detection of flame at a high speed and with high reliability, by detecting flame in use of an infrared-ray detecting element and controlling fuel flow to the burner of combustor. CONSTITUTION:In a flame detecting control system comprising, for instance, main burner 1, pilot burner 2, burner flame 3, casing 4, plate 5 fitted in a viewing window and detector 6 for detecting burner flame 3, an infrared-ray detecting element 7 is used for the detector 6. Providing here that temperature of element 7 is raised by DELTAT by the energy of infrared rays given from the direction shown by arrow in the drawing, electric charge Q proportional to DELTAP/DELTAT is resultantly produced in element 7. Providing that electric capacity of element 7 is C, voltage V=Q/C is developed. Therefore, if PVF2 is used for instance for converting the above voltage V into an output voltage across terminals 11 and 12 with impedance of element 7 being lowered by FET8 and resistance 9 and DC current is passed through terminals 10 and 12, flame can be detected through voltage change.
