Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain data on observation in a body as a video signal by making use of waveform variation through Doppler effect of an electromagnetic wave corresponding to vibration caused by acoustic-wave irradiation.
CONSTITUTION: Ultrasonic pulses from ultrasonic vibrator 5 cause body 2 in transparent tank 1 to vibrate corresponding to body 2. Consequently, a reflected-light electromagnetic wave from body 2 through irradiation with laser beam from laser light source 6 varies in wavelength according to body 2 through the Doppler effect. For the purpose, this reflected electromagnetic wave is detected by photo-electron multiplier tube 12 and a voltage equivalent to variation of this wavelength variation is developed by high-frequency amplifier 15 and displayed on high-frequency oscilloscope 17, so that the reflection factor, chroma saturation, temperature radiation, etc., of the electromagnetic wave in the body can be observed through a video image.
