CONSTITUTION: Metal film 32 of nickel, etc., which hydrogen permeates excellently is provided inside of several holes at the tip of vacuum container 31 of hydrogen meter sensor 30. Inside of this film 32, heating element 37 whose resistance varies with a temperature and which forms a bridge circuit and coil-shaped temperature compensating resistor 33 with the same temperature characteristics as those of heating element 37 are provided. In addition, an influence of an ambient temperature is much less than that of heating element 37 because of radiation shielding layer 36 covering the circumference. The amount of hydrogen permeating film 32 can be directly detected by ammeter 45 with high precision, high reliability and quick response through the variation of heating element 37 in proportion to variation in temperature in container 31 corresponding the amount of hydrogen. Further, sensor 30 of this constitution is miniaturized.
