Abstract

PURPOSE: To dispense with maintainings the ambient temperature around a photoelectric multiplier constant and facilitate easy handling, by providing a thermosensitive resistor in a gain setting circuit for a feedback amplifier, detecting the ambient temperature and compensating an output as to the temperature.
CONSTITUTION: A thermosensitive resistor RT1 having a positive temperature coefficient is coupled in parallel with a feedback resistor R2 of a gain setting circuit for a feedback amplifier 2. The ambient temperature around a scintillator and a photoelectric multiplier 1 is detected by the thermosensitive resitor RT1. When the ambient temperature rises and the output of the multiplier 1 falls, the input to the amplifier 2 decreases. However, the output of the amplifier 2 is kept constant in a temperature range above about 5°C because the resistance of a feedback circuit for the amplifier 2 increases due to the rise in the ambient temperature. The opposite action takes place and the output of the amplifier is also kept constant when the ambient temperature falls in a range about above 5°C. Therefore, the ambient temperature does not need to be kept constant and the handling is greatly facilitated.
