Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the treatment of the HC component in an exhaust system and the NOx in a combustion room by recycling only the exhaust component in high HC concentration which pulsatively flows in an exhaust pipe into the exhaust path through the reflux path.
CONSTITUTION: Both the exhaust path 8 and intake path 11 of the engine 2 communicate by way of the exhaust reflux path 18 with the ever-close timing valve 14 which opens valves only at the preset time, mixing chamber 16 which collects exhaust gas once, and reflux control valve 17 which opens and closes in accordance with the element signals of the engine and makes a part of the exhaust gas flow back the exhaust system. The high HC concentration exhaust component range R and its contrary range L are alternately formed at the exhaust path 8 by the opening and closing of the exhaust valve 7. When such high HC component reaches the exhaust outlet 13, the timing valve 14 opens and makes it flow back the exhaust system.
