Abstract
PURPOSE: To make parting of steel wires easy and finish the inner side of pipe to high accuracy by disposing the steel wires which become the inside diameter core in pipe casting in the cavity part of split patterns, flowing molten metal of Pb-Sb alloy of the specific composition through the sprue of the upper mold into the cavity and letting the molten metal freeze and cool.
CONSTITUTION: The inside diameter core 12 consisting of piano wires 13 and 14 screwed by screw parts 15, 16 is disposed in the recessed groove 4 in the lower mold 3 of split patterns 1 and both ends thereof are protruded to outside the molds and are supported by sub-brackets 9, 10. Next, an upper mold 2 is superposed to complete the casting mold, after which the molten metal of the Pb alloy containing 6 to 8% of Sb is flowed through the sprue 11 of the upper mold 2 into the cavity 5 and is let to freeze and cool. Next, the upper mold 2 is removed and the pipe inserted with the inside diametral core 12 is taken out. The screw part 17 of both piano wires is disconnected, and the inside diametral core 12 is pulled by pulling the both ends on the outer side. This method makes pulling of the steel wires easy owing to the volume increase at the freezing of the alloy and the hardness and thermal conductivity of the steel wires.
