Abstract

CONSTITUTION: The water to be tested is introduced into a weighing tank 3 from a test water sipply pipe 2 with a pinch valve 1 opened. The diluent water to be tested is led into said weighing tank 3 from a diluent tank 5 through a supply pipe 6 with a pinch valve 4 opened. Said weighing tank 3 has a capacity of 20ml for example. Excess water is drained through an overflow pipe 7. The water and diluent water in said weighting tank 3 are introduced into a measuring tank 10 through a conduit 9 with a pinch valve 8 opened. Further given kinds of reagent are fed to a reagent weighing tank 18 from reagent storage tanks 16W17 by pumps P1 and P2 for weighing, and into said measuring tank 10 through an auxiliary weighing tank 19 to measure the COD value of the water to be tested. The oxidation reduction potential in said measuring tank 10 is detected by a detecting electrode 11. The signal of thus-obtained detection value is fed to a detector 12 for amplification and transferred to an arithmetic section 13 to control the operation of said pinch valves 1, 4 and 8.
